Did I blink? Is it already 2012? I love being on the verge of a new year. So many things to reflect on… I can’t believe how much has happened in just 12 short months. I left my full-time job, moved into a new apartment, traveled a ton, made some new amazing friends, had highs [...]

What’s exciting about life is it’s unpredictability. Just make the most of it and enjoy the ups as well as the downs. Happy New Year!

A DECO DINNER PARTY

6595004567_7ebcaa5031

Do you have any fabulous New Year’s Eve plans up your sleeve? I’m always tempted to get away this time of year – run off to some beautiful destination (Paris? Fiji? Anywhere but here?!) to experience New Years in a more magical setting, but alas that won’t be the case. So I’m doing the second [...]

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: COUNTDOWN

Crissie here – from Chicasaurus-Rex and guess what? I love this time of year! I basically love any time of year where you can dress up in sequins and glitter and drink champagne (New Years, birthdays, every other Tuesday…)! This year I’m loving this gold and black combo – and some DIY count-down champagne flutes [...]

Love the coat… wear the parfum often…want the dress…would fall off the shoes….could rock the purse…

This new year’s eve, I will be rockin’ a pair of jeans and a cute top and a sequin scarf…hors’deuvres and champagne with the neighbors as the ball drops!

Happy New Year to you and yours!

but here spring is already hitting the shop floors and it is all NEON again, YUCK! I hope that it is just left overs from last year to fill the racks until the real spring lines appear.

I think going all pastel is a hard thing to pull off without looking too too sweet. If I had my guess, I would say the move on from jewel tones and brights would be to combine them with tonally lighter or pastel versions of the same hue (e.g. magenta with light pink).

APARTMENT #26: THE WALLS

6582322911_b283c181c0_o

Part of my goal this week while things are quiet around here is to get my act together on finishing up the apartment. I’d say I’m about 60% there right now. I’ve got quite a few pieces picked out that need to be ordered, and once those larger items are in it’ll be time to [...]

I actually just got a gallery wall for Christmas and am so excited to hang it- we’ll my boyfriend to hang it haha. My only word of advice is be super careful when you lay it all out on the floor. I accidentally stepped on one and cracked the frame. It was pretty heartbreaking.

I love gallery walls – my tip is: Don’t worry about making holes in the wall. I always re-arrange, and keep adding artwork here and there.

Funny… hanging artwork/photos is my goal for the week too! Lately, I have been cutting out pieces of kraft paper to match the frame size and taping them on the wall. Once I am happy with the balance of it all… I start nailing. Good luck!

I love the look of wall space that’s filled with different sized antique-looking frames! But you’re right, they can’t be too small or else the room will look cluttered.

Good luck on your wall arranging!

I recently made a post about gallery walls! I used to think of them as clutter but now I am loving them… I think there should always be at least one element in common (frame style or color, painting color combo, type of photography…) cant wait to see yours!

so pretty, I feel like if I tried to do this it would look less chic unfortunately, and just more messy! Post a picture if you do end up with a gallery!

DOWNTIME

6576837931_cbd3f4c778_o

One of the things I love most about Christmas is that for one day, everyone stops their busy bustling lives to be with loved ones and truly be present. Yesterday there was no emailing, no laptops, no deadlines… just family and friends and gifts and delicious meals…So today, instead of returning to the frenzy, I’m [...]
