SPRINGSPIRATION

Last weekend I embraced the sunny Saturday bestowed upon us and dove into some spring inspired decorating…
Thanks to this newly acquired gorgeous spring green zig zag pillow from Fabricadabra (with just a hint of aqua at the edges of the zag), I’ve got a new palette to work with in the living room! The other pillow was a Target purchase from last summer, and it’s just a bit more bold that I like with the sofa, but I think I can make it work.

Next? Some inspiration for room pieces and styles…
With my more traditional-styled bar and simple sofa, I’d really love to add some more modern accents to the decor, starting with lamps and maybe even a different accent chair (I’ve always wanted one with leather that could be worn in year after year). I’d also consider a bench or pair of stools to sit across from the coffee table to create a low conversational area. And, given the bolder pillow choices, a white lacquer coffee table might be in order!

Time for some dream hunting…
I have to admit… I’ve been lusting after this perfect zig zag rug since spying it at the Safavieh showroom last year at High Point. Designed by Thom Filicia (love him!), it’s truly the inspiration behind this palette!

I really like the idea of adding in some more earthy pieces to balance my ‘glam’ decor tendencies with a few amazing mid-century styled bowls from Heath Ceramics and these glazed crackled glazed glass coasters at Anthropologie in complimentary colors. For the bar? A fabulously simple brass table lamp to warm things up a bit. For company? A pair of stools in my current favorite fresh spring green! For me? A gorgeously complete room…

That white coffee table is gorgeous. It would look so out of place in my current living room, where the theme is more rustic than anything else, but maybe someday… :)

Those pillows are beautiful! I really want to find some inexpensive chevron pillows/covers, but am having no luck finding any in my budget {less than $30 each}. Any suggestions?

lovely new pillow! I want a chevron cover too and I go back and forth between wanting this one with blurry edges or a more crisp version (like from twinkle home)
all your selections are great- I especially dig those stools.

Wonderful inspiration board. I love that brass lamp. If I had any spending money this month that puppy would be sitting on my desk!

Really in love with the lamp and your new pillow! I bought some green ikat pillows earlier this year and I love them. I think I have a bit of a pattern explosion in my living room, though, so I might need to scale it back.

Wish I hadn't seen this post. Those vintage footstools are exactly what I've been searching for and they have been sold. Now I'm really bummed.

I love changing out my accent pillows for spring, quick and easy lift me up for all our rooms! Are you a fan of navy & turquoise? I think it might be the new color story for my bedroom!

Lovely Little Nest… your best bet for a zig zag pillow under $30 is keeping an eye on Target (they always have more online!), Overstock.com, or finding a zig zag print you love and whipping up a pillow yourself! I happen to think pillow covers are SO worth a little investment. They're easy to store when the season or styles change in your home, and will last you forever! I keep my stored away until I find that they work for me again :)

Absolutely beautiful coasters. I've been looking for some for quite a while now and these are the nicest I've seen.
