Lady of the Mist

Years ago, my family spent a summer in the Olympic National Forest, just north of Seattle. It’s a true rainforest, and absolutely magical.

So, when I saw these amazing images from the recent NY Times Fall Travel issue, which were photographed in this park, I had to share.

Gorgeous dresses amongst lush greenery… it seems so surreal, but having been there I can say it honestly looks like this!

I especially love the misty lake… very northwest.

You can see more of the photography by Raymond Meier in the slideshow.

I love the Olympic National Hoh Rainforest, the gorgeous moss dripping everywhere and the huge trees, especially in the Hall of Mosses. How cool to see this as the setting of these great clothes. Thank you for sharing these pictures, they're beautiful!

I live just a few minutes from Olympic National Park, and I can verify that it does look like this, year round! I wish I could put on one of these dresses and wander on a deserted beach. Winter can be especially beautiful with the greys and greens of fog and forest.
If you're looking for it on a map, you'll actually find Olympic more to the west of Seattle. When I'm in Seattle, it never fails to give me chills to see the blue peaks of the Olympic Mountains to the west on a clear day.
