Room of the Week 4.3

This week’s room is one of my favorites… it’s been around for a while, as it was featured in THAT issue of Domino mag with the “For Like Ever” poster on the cover. (Does anyone else feel like that was a day in Domino history?)

Anyhow – Suzanne over at Simply Magic featured this room on her blog this week, reminding me of how much this space perfectly appeals to my aesthetic…

Open, sophisticated (but a little girly at the same time), and not overly cluttered ~ only the essential accessories are needed for this room. It reminds me of a modern take on a sitting room – perfect for the Marie Antoinettes of today. If this were my room, I would lounge in the sunshine, absorbing some warmth and catching up on reading… and I would probably add some barely there modern touches. Like an acrylic table over that zebra rug. Or maybe not. Maybe it’s just perfect the way it is?

definitely agree about the modern touches. and the OCD in me is screaming to rearrange the room a bit so that it’s not so heavy around the fireplace.

but yes, i have this saved as one of my favorites too!

I have to say “ditto” to this comment. Even so, I love the vibe and style of the room.

i think we all have a little OCD in us to create a better balance in the room – it is very heavy by the fireplace, but who knows what the other side looks like…? i’ll agree with both of you on that one!

I’ve always loved this room. And you are right. A great lucite table next to the day bed would be wonderful. After all, I would need somewhere to place my beverage of choice as I curl up on that oh-so-comfy daybed reading a good book (or magazine!).

Hello! Thanks for your comment on our blog about the Oly daybed, and holy cow…that pink day bed in your post is to DIE for! sigh.

Also, I do agree that the “For Like Ever” cover from Domino was a moment they have yet to repeat (sadly), I ordered that poster and have it hanging in my office right now. Love it! I’m adding you to our blog list, thanks for checking in with us! Kelie
